99 Accord 4cyl automatic. For the past few months, it is sporadically looping on start up (it is fine idling after having driven some). Check engine light has gone on and off the past couple of weeks. "Cylinder 1 misfire" was fault code first time; light when off, came back on, now no fault code pulls up.

Replaced #1 spark plug - no help. Did complete fuel system cleaning; no help. Issue getting progressively worse. Am thinking either distributor cap (slight corrosion on rotor. but don't understand why it would only be at start up and not in any idle state) or clogged fuel filter (but don't understand why only one cylinder would be misfiring)?
