Del sol loss of acceleration
Recently bought a 93 del sol Automatic that the previous owner had sitting. I got it for very cheap and am more than impressed with the deal. It has 150xxx miles and the engine runs very smoothly. Here is for the bad part. Whenever you stop or slow down then give it a ton of gas it sits and sputters. It takes a good 5-10 seconds before you get the power you need. Only things that have been done to the car is added coolant and did a oil change. Also cleaned the IACV and throttle body thinking it had something to do with the problem. It didnt fix anything. I currently am starting to believe more that the problem is more due to a transmission sensor or something. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah I totally agree with Ron here. The worst thing to do to a car is make it sit for any extended period of time.
Replace:
- fuel filter
- spark plugs
- ignition wires
- distributor cap
- distributor rotor
Inspect/clean:
- air filter
How long was the car sitting for?
Are you using the gas that the car sat with?
