93 del Sol Si losing power and sputtering below 3K
I pick up a del sol as a beater awhile back, and for awhile now ive had a problem with it. if i go to roll on the throttle or just hold it at cruising speed (any speed, but mostly street, 25-35 MPH) it will suddenly lose power and it sounds like it sputters a little bit and just cant find itself. If i depress the gas more or just hold steady, it will suddenly grab and lurch forward and accelerate, then do the same thing, then finally level out.
B16 engine, automatic, already cleaned the cap and did the plugs and wires which were needed.
Could this be a timing thing? fuel starvation? some sensor that I have no idea about? I read somewhere about an air temp or flow sensor that sometimes gets out of whack...
any help guys? im out of ideas.

check your fuel filter.. take it off and dupm it out see if the filter is bad, you can look inside it and tell if its shot, my 97 hatch did that and it was getting WAY to much fuel.. it would not start at times, good luck

I also have a 93 del sol si auto. It's a D16 not a B16.
The fuel filter is a good idea also the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) should be cleaned and you can check the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator). Check the air filter. Another thought could be the fuel pump pick up screen could be clogged. The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank accessible under the plastic interior behind the seats. Get a Haynes manual for the del sol/civic and it will help a lot. Also see the FAQ's section.

Yeah... D series not B series. Don't know how that happened, my fingers arent THAT big lol.
I tried to replace the fuel fitler today, couldnt get it to seal right, lo and behold, the flare fitting was flattened out. cant imagine why it wouldnt seal, looks like im biking to work tomorrow.
Ill try those other spots, thanks for the tips!
