Default Tranny fluid problem.

OK hi. I just did a b16a swap into my 90 crx si. it has the y1 tranny on it. I was wondering exactly how much honda mtf i need to put into it? I pulled the plug out with the hex head on it and started to fill.....it still isnt full after a few quarts....what gives? I thought it was supposed to take like 2.3 or something? How can i see if its full cuz its making a bit of noise....not bad just gear noise. I need to get this thing squared away. thanks again.
