I am dealing with a 2002 Acura Cl Type-S...The interior lights (map/dome/door lights) are not coming on when I open the doors OR when I turn them on manually. There is power coming to all of the sockets and terminals and all of the bulbs are brand new (just changed) and still nothing...I have NEVER seen anything like it...USUALLY when you have power to a bulb IT COMES ON!!!! But these are not...After 20 years in this industry am I not doing something right??? Please help

 

Apply power to the bulbs while they are iut of the car, make sure that they work.properly. are you sure you have the right bulbs?

 

Im using the same bulbs that I pulled out...194 in the doors and map lights and then like a 11005 or something weird like that for the dome light

 

They are ground switched........ having power is only half the equation. Was the factory radio removed by chance?

 

Yeeaaahhh!!! I read that somewhere that if the radio was replaced with an aftermarket radio then the interior lights wont work anymore unless hooked up properly...but in todays audio world, who does anything RIGHT anymore??? What should I do if this is the case???

I have no idea about your platform but on Civics that had the issue you just joined 2 wires together where the radio is. The radio just acted as closed switch for the lights; once the factory radio is removed the circuit opens. It is a rather pointless feature. Find the unused wires and use a DMM to verify ground on one side and light socket on the other. Pretty self explanatory......

 

20 years in the industry and you dont have access to the wiring diagram? That would be the best place to start,rather than replacing parts at random....

 

have you checked all your fuses??
