Hi,

I have a 98 Civic EX sedan with some lock issues. When I press the power lock switch on the driver door I can hear the actuators moving but nothing happens on any of the doors except the rear passenger.

The rear passenger lock only unlocks with the power switch, no matter if I press lock or unlock - it will unlock and not relock itself.

The driver side lock is stiff and I cannot lock it manually at all. If I use the key from the outside it doesn't stay locked and slides back up when I pull the key out. It doesn't lock when I hold the handle open either.

From what I understand in other threads it could be either the driver door actuator or the lock control module. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Sounds like bad lock actuators, but make sure it's not a mechanical lock problem before replacing.

 

Thanks I will do that. So if it were the actuators I would have to replace them on all the doors? I read somewhere that the driver door kind of controls the rest of them? Not quite clear on that part.
