Scary Ghost Experience
GHOST Experience with my 2000 Accord
Driving along at 50-60MPH (about 2000 RPMs) when all of a sudden:
1)All dashboard Lights come on
2)Doors Unlock
3)Car stalls (no acceleration when you press the pedal)
Then you count to 2 (1001, 1002) and
1) Doors Lock
2) dashboard lights go Off
3) The car can accelerate and drive on 'normally'.
It's a scary experience and it happened three times to me yesterday.

haha that is insane! LEt me ask you, does your car unlock itself when you stop and put it into park? I doubt it but im wondering if it has the auto lock and unlock feature based on what gear the selector is in.
Issue #2:
While at a stop light the RPMs go down below 1000 and the car stalls. It does not do it all the time.
This started happening about 6 weeks ago and since then the Distributor and the Alternator have been professionally replaced.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong before I bring it in tomorrow for Service again?

so whats odd to me is the fact that the unlock module is activating by itself. Is the car equipped with an alarm or factory alarm with a device that disables the car? It sounds like the car is disabling itself. The stalling issue at a stop is a different issue. Might be a ground issue. I dont have an electrical diagram in front of me but its possible the lights, doors are on the same circuit/ground. But it sounds just like an alarm disable. Idling below 1000 is fairly normal I would think. Stalling can be related to fuel pressure, egr components or numerous things.
I would start with the stalling at low rpm issue first. It may help with the other issue or may be two totally separate issues. Is this a new car to you or have you had it for a long time? Maybe Holmmes can chime in and help on this.

That thing is HAUNTED!!! Sprinkle salt around it, sacrifice a chicken on the hood, and call a voo-doo witchdoctor immediately.
Seriously though, did you check your in-dash fuses. I have no idea if a fuse issue would cause that, and I kind of doubt it would. I do know that I had a fuse issue in a van a few years back that gave me some very strange symptoms...

is this one of the ones with the recalled key switch, if the key is going to accessory, engine is shutting off, which makes dash lights come on, doors will automatically unlock, and of course it wont start, then it makes contact again, so the dash lights go off, doors lock, and it can be restarted
Agreed on the key switch. Make sure you don't have too many keys, trinkets or charms hanging off your key chain. This can cause excessive wear on the tumbler as it will pull on the tumbler every time you change direction.
