Re-skinning the roof on my CRX, anyone have experience with this?
I posted a thread about this in the CRX/Civic 88-91 Forum but though that it might get more views here.

If anyone can offer me any tips or advice I would appreciate it. I have read a few good write ups on it but it is definitely harder than it looks. Thanks.

I am having problems separating the panels after the welds are drilled out, the sections in the rain rails are tough to get to.
look on autobody tool mart, they have a seam separator or something like that. But if you have a steady hand use a grinder and slowly grind it down. make sure you don't go to far into the base metal.
just make sure you have removed all the spot welds. drill all of them out. and separate with that hammer and chisel. there shouldnt be anything else holding it down other than welds.
after you've separated the front and rear, then you can attack the sides

I just wanted to give an update, I found a few more spot welds on the bottom side of the panel that were not visible from the top and drilled those out but also had to cut through some seam sealer or type of adhesive with a knife before it came apart easily. Thanks for the advice. Next step is to take the windshield out and start on my actual car, its a little scary but I should be able to do it. Wish me luck.
