Default Process of finding a B16B type R motor.

Hey guys!

I'm trying to find a B16B type R motor for my 90 crx. I'm trying to find places online where i could buy one... This is what i have so far:

http://www.jshmotors.com/jdm-b16b-civic-type-r_p43.php

http://osakajdmmotors.ca/jdm-engines...cs7n0mp8glua74

http://www.alibaba.com/product-detai...138966218.html

http://www.bestofjdm.com/COMPLETE-PA.../jdmhonda9.htm

http://jdm-ottawa.com/jdm-b16b-ek9-c...-civic-type-r/

http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30006

Ok, so thats the ones i have looked at so far... Can anyone vouch for any of these sites? Also maybe link me better deals or point to which ones aren't what they seem to be. I am going from a D to a B series swap so I'm not exactly sure what parts I need.

Thanks in advanced to any help!

find your motor here: http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/

look in here first when you have a question: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faqs-frequently-asked-tech-questions-1998336/

search this website archives

to do the swap: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/detailed-b-series-into-crx-ef-civic-parts-list-more-2769325/

B16b motor is not a GSR so I don't know why you put that.

So my Motor mount, axle, and rear mount bracket needs to be changed? I don't think any of that is included.

I'd go for a B18C5 before the B16B. They're relatively the same price and in the end the C5 has more torque and horsepower. Hmotors has them for 3600 complete swap, however being you have a CRX its going to need a few things in addition to be able to use the transmission (hydraulic) it comes with because your car is cable operated. You won't be able to use the wiring harness it comes with plus you'll need to do a good number of wiring additions. The mounts won't work it comes with either or the shift linkage. B16B is pretty overhyped IMO.

I tried hmotorsonline and it keeps putting me to a voice mail. I've tried for this entire week several times a day. Anyone have any advice?

Hmotorsonline is legit I know alot of people that buy from them, all their parts are always clean and in good working order. Price wise they are on the higher side of the spectrum but worth the money for clean legit parts. You could try moshimoshi and see if they have it stocked. Hope this was helpful

Ok. I have ordered my motor from Hmotors. The guy I talked to seemed very nice and made sure I knew what I was buying. So far so good. I'm getting the motor this upcoming Monday. If anyone is interested in Hmotors the guy told me you can check out their instagram for inventory and cool stuff they got.

But I have a quick question. I ordered this:
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30006
Now that is going to go into a 1990 crx.
So I found I needed this too:
http://hasport.com/store/index.php/efb2.html

Is there any other little things I need? I think I need the axles and rear mount bracket...? (I know hmotor already includes ones, but these are stock. Don't I need different ones?)
Im looking but I'm at a dead end. Anyone that can share some knowledge would be great.

Call Hmotors back and tell him you need the crx swap parts. He can supply the necessary Hasport parts too. Shift linkage, hydraulic trans motor mount kit, axles are needed. A host of other bits and pieces are needed to complete the swap and make it clean

Ok. Thanks. Yea the only thing hmotors mentioned was the mount kit. He said that was all I needed but I was very doubtful... Thanks for your help. Ill ask when they are open on Monday.

Also is your CRX the SI or HF model? If not you're going to have to convert to MPFI as well.
