Quick question for you guys. I am still trying to learn about kpro and other engine management programs. My question is, does updating the gear ratios matter in kmanager? It is probably a bad question, but was just wondering. Last year my car was running 6.8s in the 1/8th. I went to the track last weekend for the first time this season, and couldn't get below a 7.1. During the winter, I changed the FD from a 4.7 to a 4.3. I didn't even think about adjusting the ratios until I had left the track (noob). The car is a 2004 civic si with a ep3 trans also. I know that there are many factors that could affect times, but was wondering if adjusting the ratios could be a contributing factor. Thanks.

 

No, the only thing the EMS uses the gear ratios for is to calculate what gear you are in.

 

Now if they are used solely to calculate which gear you are in, would that affect boost by gear?
