Default B16 SPOON ECU

So i got this "dude".It's an original SPOON ecu,it has the SPOON seals outside.i was trying to find some information and i only found that rev limit, vtec etc is different.i know that the map is different but is it DESIGNED to run on a stock B16a or NOT?i read somewhere that it was probably designed for SPOON modified engines, but even if it's like that i can't find the specs of those engines. Now another question can i remap this one with a different chip?If i remove the spoon chip is it like a normal factory ecu but with just the chip socket? If not what chip should i buy to be a stock one so i can remap it?Thanks

Most likely not as the eprom is likely glued to the board.
Furthermore you won't want to devalue the ecu by doing this.
Sell the ecu to someone who wants an ecu with a spoon sticker on it.

You can buy a pre-chipped obd1 p28 spec ecu ready to go with a great basemap for your application on http://www.phearable.net/engine-comp...ec-ecu-en.html

There is honestly no point in a Spoon ECU even if it is genuine. We don't even know what mods it has when they tuned it, so nothing is going to run as well as a real tune would. Same as any other chipped ECU you could buy. But I'm sure some sucker on eBay will still buy it for $400.

It's not soldered on board!it has an ic base soldered on board so you can add whatever chip you want.correct me if am wrong.

This is a p30-j00 ecu,and i think is a rare one so maybe is better i just chip that?can i use he site you gave me and buy just the remapped chip? Also is it a good idea to remap the ecu on a mostly stock b16a?i have basic bolt ons and am not planning to do any internals at the moment, but any improvement from a remap is welcome, even if it's a slight one. Thanks!

That basically makes it a socketed/chipped p30.

You may order a 28 pin eprom chip basemap from our website
http://phearable.net/ecu-chipping-en...asemap-en.html
& drop it into the ecu your self.

There is an instructional video on our website on how to change your eprom chip in an already socketed ecu.

I will buy one from you,but please answer me that.after i get your chip do i need to do a tune?because there are no good tuners in my country actually.i would love to leave your chip as is,if it's gonna improve the car and of course make it work fine without more adjustments.your reply is important so i can order the chip!thanks!

The answer to this depends on what exact engine setup you have with what modifications etc.

The knock sensor should be disabled if yours is not working or if your ecu doesn't support it.

The stock bseries knock sensor is generally disabled on 99% of all applications.

With the bolt ons you have you will be good to go on one of our basemap tunes.

That's definitely not a spoon chip. that's a Knock-off Spoon Program onto a chip, in a USDM ECU.

Here's what they were. Plus, the ECUs were physically different. They were for EK9 B16B engines, not the B16A. KEIHIN ECUs are wider.
