I just bought 89 wagon really cheap so no complaint with whats wrong with it, but of course I have to fix it. I found out that the steering wheel position would changing from facing right or left, kinda hard to make it centered. It drive fine, but when do parking I find out that the steering wheel would turn but not the wheel outside. I didnt check anything yet, I just gonna ask here where should I look before I have to tinkering and broke something. Thanks

 

Look at the steering rack and the tie rods (?). Just check underneath the car for anything that is snapped between the steering rack and the wheel.
