Looking to buy a set of 6.5 components for my 96 ex coupe and am hoping someone else may have a rough depth measurement on them before they start interfering with the window. Would like to have everything ready when I start it.

According to a Google search, the mounting depth is between 2" and 2 1/8" in the doors.

Why would they interfere with the windows?

I know from personal experience that the true problem with speaker fitment is the diameter of the magnet. I ended up cutting out the "basket" so I could fit a quality speaker.

 

To get the depth you want you'll need to cut off the baskets behind the speakers (in teh door panels) or use spacers.

 

I figured I would have to cut the basket, but wanted to know so if I did need spacers I could make/buy them before hand

 

I used longer screws and metal spacers from Ace hardware.
