Stripped 1 Rear lower tranny mount bolt
Hey guys, I ran into a problem today. I was tightening the rear lower transmission mount bolts on my EF, I was able to tighten two out of three bolts to spec, the other is stripped. My main concern is I dont want to have to take off the tranny to do a dam helicoil. Since its not nearly as important as the motor mounts, would I be ok with one out of three untorqued? Its number 33 on the pic. There are two of them, I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the help in advance.
Actually, this is one of the more important mounts. Figure the motor spins in line with the front and back of the car so that's one of the mounts that stabilizes the twisting.
Also, you have 3 transmission mounts and just one motor mount.

I will do a helicoil... on all three holes. do I need to drop the tranny ? I was thinking I could just remove the bolts and mount and access the holes with the tranny still attached. thanks again

I have never tried it. If you can remove stuff and can get a drill in there, then you can do it.
You do the helicoil insertion and helicoil thread tap by hand - while tapping, use WD-40 often and back out the tap about a quarter turn after every full turn or two that you cut.
