I bought a wastegate from a member on here it was adveritised as a tial mvr 44mm bnib for $200. Should have know the deal was too good to be true but I bought it anyway.
I'm 98% sure it's fake wanted to post pic up on here to see if you can can tell, tial is gonna get back with me tomorrow.
The seller says he will refund me and I will ship it back. I also payed with PayPal so I can always make a claim.
When I got it is was def not 44mm it's a 38mm.
It only came with one spring in it. And all mvr and mvs come with all springs.
There is no tial sticker on the box like other tial wastegate I have bought.
It came with this cheap looking tubing with very obvious defects I have never seen before. So you can weld to your own waste gate flange I guess.
We'll here Are the pics.

I'm only chiming in here because I wanted to make it known that the weld els and the wastegate (fake or authentic) are wholly unrelated. I know nothing of the buyer, seller, or wastgate in question; however, I'm almost positive the weld els were purchased from us (at some point in time). The manufacturer of the weld els most certainly does not make knockoff automotive products.
I'm sorry to hear about your issues and I hope you can get the cleared up right away. Best of luck to you!!

If they are packaged together in the same box then indeed they are related. Do you sell to tial USA?
Regardless I should have know better. Ease be aware of members selling knock off products.

TiAL doesn't include weld els, much less one that's been tack welded. just because it's in the same box doesn't matter.
Post pictures of the box that it came in, I can tell you if it's a TiAL box or a repack
the tial looks real, call/email TiAL with the SN.
the fake TiALs don't have castings that clean, letters that crisp, and machining and anodizing that nice, TiALs purple is impossible to copy.
call them first.

Also the fake TiALs don't have the correct clamps, yours does.
the seller probably tossed the weld els in the box because he couldn't use them. unless there's a cutout in the foam in the shape of a weld el then the fact that they were included is entirely irrelevant

I will investigate further however the box is the same box that fakes are
Know to come in it has a distinctive stamp on the bottom. It lacks the tial mvs or mvr sticker.
And it doesn't come with all the springs that are included in the mvs mvr series.
Mud It was listed as a 44 and it obvious a 38 I hope it was an honest mistake
I will def follow up with tial bit as of now I have to say it fake.

Again, we have no dog in this fight so to speak. I just wanted to point out that the weld el manufacturer does not produce automotive specific products, especially knockoffs.

normally the casting quality gives it away, the knockoffs have never been able to match the investment casting process quality.
as far as the springs, maybe whoever you bought it from simply forgot to put them in the box...
I can tell from the height it's a 38 MV-S due to how small it is overall but again you can't call knockoff or fake until TiAL verifies the serial number... it's just a box. I've shipped new parts in different boxes before
You are correct in the fact that they are related in this case (they were shipped together in the same box); however, the manufacturer of the weld els and the manufacturer of the wastegate are completely unrelated (in the business world). We do sell TiAL products; however, we have yet to sell a purple MV-S or MV-R wastegate as we only started selling TiAL products about a week ago.

HOOK ME UP WITH A PIPING BUILD KIT. THAT HT PRICING!!
Im local so ill pick up pm me if you can.
Can't really tell from the pics if it's real or fake. But I don't believe there are fake tial mvr44mm wastegates out there. There are only fake mvs 38mm ones.

There are fakes of both, at least there were.. I contacted TiAL about the fake MVR units and IIRC they got that seller shutdown.
As far as the MVS (which the wg in this thread is) there are knockoffs but normally they only use 1 or 2 serial numbers for every unit, which TiAL knows which are fake, and the casting, machining, and anodizing quality is **** which this gate obviously doesn't have.. you can tell by the TiAL in the casting, the machining quality of the top (look at the H2O letters, super crisp which the knockoffs don't even have)
as far as springs, the MVS comes with a couple extra IIRC. most of the time they are in the box, sometimes they are inside the wg actuator.
Mike, take the top of the diaphragm off and see if the extra springs are inside it, also post a pic of the box, the foam liner, and anything else. But going off the clamps and air fittings it's legit, can't say about the box.
also post a photo of the wg top, so we can see the laser etching of the logo and SN

This is the stamp that was on other boxes of fake tials
According to this is prob fake I see the very small blemishes in the engraving.

My 38mm MVS wastegate came in a plain white box with molded foam packaging and with a label that looked like this one. There was no " Tial " sticker on my packaging. My wastegate also only came with a two spring combo for 1 bar. It did not come with all springs nor did it come with any weld on fittings, however mine was part of a kit from Go-autoworks & the V bands were already welded onto the dumptube & manifold fitting.
The wastegate itself does not look fake, even the fittings that came with yours look legit.
I will admit that the packaging and instructions that mine came in ( which sounds a lot like what yours looks like) looked a little suspect, but maybe that is how they pack & ship to their vendors. I am 100% confident that what I received from Go-autoworks is the real thing.

Hum interesting I guess it will be up to the seller to decided and find out all I know is that I need a 44mm not a 38 so even if it is real it's useless to me.
