Default 97 Civic overheating

Hey all. I have a 97 EX (D16y8) that warms up quite a bit while stopped. About 3/4 of the temp gauge. Now I have tested the fan, motor, relay and all are working. I replaced the radiator about a year ago and just replaced the rad. cap. Now ive noticed that my coolant in the overflow boils, so i replaced the rad cap. Still "overheats". So what else could it be? Coolant is also just over a year old. Thanks in advance guys!!

I have a 2000 DX, randomly overheated while stopped/idle, as soon as rpms went up, cooled down. Ended up being head gasket leak. Used cylinder leakdown tester, found bubbles in cooling system. Good luck!

Ok, I did test the T-stat. It does open and close. It appears to open around 180 degrees. Does that sound about right, because on the T-stat its self it says 78 degrees Celsius which is about 172 degrees F. Also oil is not milky, I just checked it this morning. I guess maybe the only other cause could be air in the cooling system??

Okay guys, 1st off yes i know i shouldn't post a question unrelated to a random thread. however i just signed up for forum and I need to wait for 5 days before posting so this was my only option, that i know of? I have a 98 honda civic ex, 5 speed manual with about 146k on it. Everything has been running great except that recently it started shutting off while driving, and then a second later would start back up while in gear. I would just be driving along and then all of a sudden the engine would shut off and the tach would show 0, speedo, stereo and everything else works. I did some research and many are saying that it is the ignition switch, however i haven't found any that start back up while driving like mine does. They just shut off and then can be started 10 minutes later.
I really hope someone can help me out. It would be much appreciated.

I was able to post my own threads the instant I confirmed my email address. You just can't post pictures for five days(use a link to Dropbox, etc). Try to start your own thread.

Year old, unrelated, dead thread. What the ****? Make your own thread. Don't try to steal someone else's.
