Replaced cylinder head now engine sounds weird
My camshaft broke off inside the gear a month ago while driving which caused all of my valves to get bent. I had the camshaft and camshaft gear and valves replaced with a rebuilt cylinder head. Now I've noticed that my engine sounds totally different. While idling, if I rev the engine up, it sounds much deeper and slightly sputters for a short second. I pulled each spark plug wire to make sure that wasnt the problem and all was well there. I haven't noticed any problems when driving when it comes to accelerating. Just wondering what is making the engine sound so different than before. It sounds like a real cheap engine, almost like revvin up a go kart. Not to say that it sounded like a corvette prior to the work being done. Any ideas?
Now that you've mentioned that, it really sounds something like that. I'll take a look at it. Is there an exact way you can tell if the exhaust is leaking?
