Default Honda Civic Dx - piston slap or rod knock?

Hello Honda tech,

I want to know why is my car having some noises at the bottom, sounds like a piston slap or a rod knock? Any idea or suggestions?

Thank you.

At the very least, post a video. Even then, nobody can be very sure on a "guess that noise" thread.

You're likely looking at a rebuild.

I bet its valve tap lol

I suggest driving it until it dies, and in the mean time picking out a good core and rebuilding it

Piston slap isn't really an issue with stock, cast pistons...it only really happens with aftermarket forged pistons on start up due to the pistons composition (they expand more during heat cycles and fill the cylinder more completely once warm). Pretty sure you can cross that off the list.

Without a video (or at least some details), we can only speculate

Didn't get that far. We're still playing the "Guess that Noise" game.
