Si doesnt want to start
Ok so i was starting to take the car apart to put a new clutch in it. Than decided it was to late to start putting it in mainly because inhad work in a few hours. So i started to reassemble and when i was putting the negative back on the battery i dropped the ratchet onto the terminals of the battery and it arced. Didnt think nothing of it as ive done it before. But when i went to back car out of my garage it didnt want to start. Its cranking fine but i was getting no fuel so i put a new pump in,still getting no fuel. I just suck with diagnosing things and im starting to get pissed because i cant figure it out lol. So any help would be highly appreciated!
I dont kniw if this has anything to do with it but everything on my dash is working when i turn the key to the on position besides my temperature guage. Just wierd that this is happening now as ive taken the trans out of this car before and reassembled it with no problems.
So let us get this straight - you dropped a wrench causing an electric short and now you aren't getting fuel among other things and you decide to replace the fuel pump? Did I read that right? If so then you may be beyond help unfortunately.
There are many things that could be fried because of your butter fingers with the ECU being at the top of the list. Fuses only react so fast. You need to pull out the ol' digital multimeter and start probing things for power. Not just power but the correct polarity. Things like the battery, injectors, fuses, fuse boxes and so on. Actually checking for fuel and spark would be ideal as well. OR you could just keep throwing parts at it too, up to you.
