I recently bought a 1999 civic si and I know those are thief magnets. Unfortunately i also live in a bad neighborhood. To top of all that I have to park my SI on the curb about 30 feet away from my house because my dad pickup is parked in the garage and there's a big box truck parked right outside. So there is no room for my civic to park. The civic does have and alarm and a steering wheel lock. I recently notice that there were some scratch mark. Two theory i have here. I thought it could be damage from the sun because it's parked outside but that's unlikely. Second theory some loser scratched my car. You can save the pics and zoom in too. FFFuuuccc ghetto *** people.

Anyways, if you can't tell then it probably wasn't vandalized. And this is hardly a technical thread.

 

I agree. It's a 15 year old car and it's not like the body is in pristine condition. Hit it with some touch up paint if it bothers you that much.

Not likely. These things are horribly easy to break into. If they wanted in they would have gotten in. Looks like a shopping cart hit the side of your door. And if they were inept enough not to be able to get into it I highly doubt they vandalized the faded paint job in spite. You're just looking for a person to blame.

Whatever it was, it wasn't due to a break in attempt.

 

So are the locks on your car fucked up? Does it look like the window trim was pry off? Does your ignition switch look jacked up with wires hanging everywhere?

Also if you plan to by a hot commodity and have no choice but to leave it parked on the curb outside your home, I don't care of the distance, get an alarm or have one professionally installed. I'm not even sure why this was posted in the technical forum because there is nothing technical about some scratches, that have a pattern which are similar.

Advice given.

 

They could've easily rolled the car down the street or had it towed thats for sure.
