Default Crank pulley wobble

91 CRX DOHC ZC stamp says 88. The pulley driving the alternator started to wobble on me. From my digging I gathered its a 22mm shaft and not the commonly avaible 24. I've tried looking but I only found one solution and that involved machining.

This is my daily and I can't really do much but drive it gently for now.

What other cars can I part search that have the 22 or, anyone have solutions? places that sell them? I've seen some racing ones, but the consensus seems they aren't to reliable.

Is it possible the bolt came loose or do I really need a new one. Alternator is the one belt attached. Where can I get one or could someone machine me one? I'll gladly pay.

Here you go:
if a new D16A6 pulley is not available, why not just get a used one? with any of the pulleys, the year of your ZC may determine which pulley you need - 88 model DOHC ZCs and 88 model D16A6s used a crankshaft with a 22mm diameter front snout (where the pulley goes on) - 89-91 ZCs and A6s used a crankshaft with a 24mm diameter front snout - you need a pulley to match the diameter of the front snout

I have a BRAND NEW 22mm unorthodox racing single crankshaft pulley I will sell you. I decided I did not want to use it. It has never been used. Let me know if you are interested. I paid 120 for it, but will let it go cheap...lets say half...60 bucks. Let me know.

This is it in case you want to check the part number:

Good luck finding a new crank pulley or a D16A6 (1988) to source a crank pulley.

Saw those too. I figured that would really be the only answer.

Well ****. Thanks.

No problem. It's going to be a tough road. This is why I don't recommend the DOHC ZC swap lightly. The parts are not common.

You can probably get some decent money for the DOHC ZC. It's a fanboy swap though.

DOHC ZC is a good motor man. Can't beat it for boost!

Parts sourcing is a BITCH though. That's why I just puled mine for a LS. DOHC ZC is going to get built though. LOVE that motor!

OP, check the forums on www.thezcr.com probably gonna be your best bet.

I'm going off topic.

What do you mean you can't beat it for boost? I've heard this a lot. Does it handle better than a stock B-series for boost?

Also, the parts sourcing is why I don't suggest it.

I'll qualify that as best D motor/ best bang for the buck for boost. The head casting just responds very well to being FORCE fed air.

Greg at Go-Autoworks has seen them make more torque than horsepower on a stock block!

A lot of the parts can be taken from other USDM motors... but not all. The far right cylinder one cam cap bolts on the 4th gen ZC are JDM EDM only and were a BITCH to source LOL. It's a lot more work than some people want to do but it's fun being different too.
