how much is my Hondata worth?
i used to own a supercharged 98 GSR and just recently got into an accident, the car was totaled so i took the hondata that was in it and hoping to sell but don't know what price range i should sell it at so hopefully one of you guys can help me put a price on it.
I recently sold an S300 in a P28 for around $425. You might be able to get a little more, but that is about the going rate. Find out what version it is when posting for sale.
do you how can I find out what version or any info on my hondata? i tried calling hondata but the number they have on their site doesn't work.

The S300 V1 is about as desirable as the S200 at this point, but practical resale value is $300, maybe $340 on the high end.

I have no biased opinion of Hondata but I wouldn't go around saying that. I would say a fare amount of the people using S300 will not use any of the additional features of V2 and V3.
Lots of user have no need for the extra features I'm sure these guys just said that to get a deal out of a $450 ecu.
Sad to say.
Not really, why settle for an older much slower version when you can have the latest and greatest with a much higher resale value for a little more money? $495 installed for free into your existing ECU isn't a bad deal at all. Unless you need the ECU, but my local junkyard RIPS people off BIG time and I can still get OBD-1 ECUs for $35... In the end it is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
I have a v1 no trouble except for a datalog issue but I can't be sure it is the v1.
I can see if your running a full competition race car but if that's the case why not run a aem infinity or motec those ems are far faster processors than any s300.
To each there own and plenty of people are paying $450-550 for s300 v1 in a ecu.
Out of the thousands of cars I've tuned, I've seen more S300 V1 failures than any other piece of tuning equipment. The biggest feature of the newer versions is that they don't crap out for no reason, and as far as I'm aware there's zero chance you're buying a counterfeit V2 or V3.
