I just replaced my 1991 DX cluster to SI. Everything seems to be working. But at night its very dark and difficult to see. I would like to know if the bulbs can be replaced. Any recommendation which bulbs to purchase. From the picture also it looks like the right sides of the instruments are out. Need to know how many bulbs to purchase also.

 

I found this picture online that show the backside of the 90 si cluster. Can someone please point out which bulbs to replace and the size.

The bulbs are the black bits. They just twist off.

 

So I just need to replace the light bulbs above the cluster and not behind it.

 

Could be. I think the clusters are just a little darker than modern ones.

Yep they are LEDs. They are polarity sensitive so make sure to test all the bulbs before putting everything back.

how come your needles aren't lit though

 

Looks like the lights on the top of the cluster weren't replaced.

 

He replaced the stock bulbs with brighter bulbs. These needles are not lit from the factory.

 

Yes I replaced all of them including the top ones. I didn't remove the light diffuser which can make it brighter if removed.

 

In your picture the section above the tacho and speedo look very amber for a white LED. Is the diffuser coloured?

 

Yes the diffuser is red.
