Default Dual Bend Short Shifter and Armrest

Hi everyone,

I have a 98 Honda civic EX. I was planning on buying a dual bend short shifter. I usually drive with my right arm on the armrest. I was wondering if having a dual bend shifter will make me not get to the **** while having my elbow on the armrest. I am 6 ft.

I can get a single bend aswell but I thought that being shorter I would have to twist too much my wrist.

Any experiences with these ergonomic concerns?

First world problems... Are you asking because you don't plan on removing your arm from the armrest at any time while driving?

I had a BLOX dual bend in my 2000 hatch and an armrest. I am also 6ft tall.

I don't think I could reach the shifter with my elbow on the armrest while in gears 1, 3, or 5. With the shifter in gears 2 or 4, it was reachable.

The EK armrest is too far back.

The more correct term is short THROW shifter. While a dual bend is shorter, it isn't noticeably shorter. The shift movement is made shorter by extending the length from the fulcrum downward. In other words, you'll be ok to buy a dual bend short throw shifter and keep your elbow on your armrest while shifting.

All these people use arm rests, while trying to shift?

I bet these guys hold their shifter alot, too. Amateurs.
