ideas for a f20c swap into a 91-93 accord
Hey guy I just been thinking about doing some swaps and I really love the 93 accord coupes and the s2ks, so I wanna start with doing a f20c or f22c really doesn't Matter which one, into the 93 accord. I just Wanna get an idea about what has to be done , and what suspension parts could be taken off of the s2k to use If possible, please I don't need the to much money or not possible reply, let's just brain storm here guys let's make this happen.
This question has been asked a million times but OK, I'll humor you!
Are you looking to make your Accord rear wheel drive like the S2K, or keep it front wheel drive?
FWD - go with a K series swap, cheaper and they are already set up for FWD
RWD - it will be completely custom and up to you to do all the leg work. let us know how you make out!

F20C has been swapped into FWD cars, similar to K series swaps, so you will have to look into that.
Suspension pieces are completely different between the CB and AP.
CB/CD Accords share most of the same suspensions parts.

Since they are both "F" series motors, what about just swapping the internals. Crank, rods, pistons, cams, heads. Intake and exhaust can be custom anyway.
From my understanding, it COULD be done, but it would take a LOT of machining and an entirely new path.
For the price of all that, you could build a really nasty single cam F, an H22/23, or even swap in a K-series that would make way more power.

I was looking at the specs on the new Civic Si motor and it really does look like the K swap is the way to go. If you are going to put a lot of effort into a swap. Or just boost an F.

IIRC the advantage an F20C has over a K is that it may be cheaper than a K and it may be a bit more reliable due to the Ks timing chain tensioner failure. Otherwise, the F-C is nothing like the F/H engines.
If you want more power/torque look into a H23 VTEC.

I would find yourself a cheap CR-V and make the K24 and suspension from that fit in your Accord. Lots of custom fabrication = lots of $$$$$$. This will not be a cheap build.
with projects like this- S2000 drivetrain and RWD conversion to a FWD chassis there is little difference between a '90-'93 Accord and a CRX. you'll have a bit more room in the Accord... but most everything will need to be first hacked apart then built back from the ground up as RWD.
For ideas, check out what Mr. Weir has done. He is an excellent fabricator with access to some awesome shop equipment. unless you are in the same situation as he is, don't expect similar results. however, check out his CRX2000 project here (H-T thread) and here (FB gallery). you'll get more info and ideas just browsing the gallery than you'll get starting a thread here

In terms of the K-series timing chain tensioner failure, I think it's overhyped. I beat the snot out of my '02 RSX-S relentlessly for about 5 years, had over 100K on it, and only fragged transmissions. My dad bought it brand new in late '01, passed it onto me in '03, I drove it until spring '05, then passed it on to my older brother, who also beat the crap out of it for another 40K and 2 years before he put it in a ditch. The glass gears/synchro's are the only reason I wouldn't consider a K-swap. The VTC gear and how well they respond to simple modifications is absolutely stunning.
