Post 1991 honda civic sedan b swap issue

hey eevryone new to the forum so if im in the wrong spot let me know, but heres my issue. car is a 91 civic sedan dx i got it with a d15b on a y8 head dpfi. i had bought a b18b swap, while doing the swap i converted to mpfi, kept everything OBD0, currently running a p75 intake manifold and throttle body with a pr4 ecu which i am told is all correct. i raced my friend in his D16y8 crx and he beat me by 5 cars...something is wrong. its feels like it wants to move but just wont. i have no power untill 3k rpm and when im noticing im using alot more fuel then i should, i went over everything about 10 times and can not pin point my problem, also before i did have a pr4 intake manifold on it and it ran hot but didnt overheat and still had power issues, only CEL codes im throwing are 14 (IACV) and 17 (speed sensor), im at a lost for words and out of ideas, anybody else know where to start looking, like i said everything is hooked up correcly

first off your in a car thats like 1000 pounds heavier... espi if you did a B swap. maybe a extra 100lb on engine/tranny and Hubs... plus you have no extra HP over him... um D16y8 is 140hp with Vtec dude you got a crap 140HP with no Vtec in a heavier car... comon what you expect... also your tranny maybe whats bogging you... ( impo its the tranny)

my sedan at the time was gutted, across the scale it weighed about 2100lbs i lied about the D16y8 it is a non vtec so im assuming i got the motor wrong, but i guess i might be expecting more power coming from a D to a B but damn that bad ? my d15 was faster... its the LS trans to, if u believe its the trans will i notice a difference with a b16 trans ? i still feel like its a motor issue, it runs ok at idle i launch into 1st,2nd low range rpm its a dog but 3500rpm its like i hit boost and starts to move. like somehings restricting power

sounds like the tranny bro. i swapped my 1989 D16a6 into a 1990 4 Door and i kept the stock 4 door tranny and kept the SI tranny in original car. let me just say the gears are so long that my A6 feels like it gots no power. 1st is the same 2nd and up are forever. in fourth gear im oging 70 at 3600 RPM drop into 5th and im at 3000-3100 at 90mph im at 5500-5800 RPM. its the tranny. swap in a B16a/1/2 and youw ill feel the power kick more. longer gears good on strieght away but bad at quartermile and take off

if you are really worried something is bogging you then do a fuel cleaning get some seafoam and seafoam the next 2 tanks that should fix any fuel issues. 1 bottle 12.00 is good for 2 tanks just fill half on each tank.
