How to lock broken window in up position?
My motor on my 2001 Accord V6 has broken. I heard a crack sound while driving and now there is no activity when I try to roll up the window. I have removed the door panel and been able to push the window up manually and secure it with tape. Is there a way I can tighten some bolts or something to lock it in place without the use of tape? And what part do I need and where can I buy it? A window motor? A regulator? The window slides up and down just fine manually. It seems like this might be a fix I can take do myself (which would be best since I have spent $1400 on this car in 3 months and it only has 90,000 miles!). Thanks!
For 6th gen Accord sedans, the window regulator/motor is purchased and replaced as an assembly. Honda dealer has the OEM part. Auto parts stores will carry aftermarket brands like Dorman, etc. The web has online retailers.
Thanks. Is there a way to lock the window in place (without using tape) until i can get it to the shop in two weeks?
