attempting to replace all trans and engine mounts starting with transmission mounts. thinkn of going with anchor brand mounts from oriellys. any inputs? they have lifetime warranty which honda dealership doesnt provide. should i just pay extra for honda parts or is the aftermarket choice okay?

 

The key is to make sure to install each new mount straight as you tighten each through bolt. Obviously just do each one, one at a time, and just make sure to jack up the engine so that the mount is straight as it can be and make sure to try to torque it to spec. If the bushing is being twisted when you tighten the through bolt it will make it fail a lot earlier than it should.

You will need to use something wooden in between the jack and the oil pan so you don't dent the oil pan for the three mounts other than the tranny side and jack up the tranny when you do the tranny mount.

Depending on which car you have and if mt or at you may be able to get to the rear mount without disconnecting the bracket. I got to mines by just disconnecting the bracket that holds the water valve to the firewall which gave me enough room to get the rear mount out and the new one in by sliding it by the firewall but I have a mt and maybe on an at I'm not at all sure if this would work. I did it in about 25 minutes though.

 

98 v6 sedan auto. ican see all three engine mounts the rear looks a bit difficult bt as far as the trans mounts go idnt really knoq where they are or how to speficically get to them
