So i was having issues with my fuel system to where i was only able to use about a third of my tank... or just a little under half at times. So what i had done to correct my issue was purchased a WALBRO fuel pump kit along with a fuel strainer from an 88 crx hf (was told has a better angle)and it did indeed correct my issue!! i am now able to use my entire gas tank!! BUT... its been 6 months since the install and now my fuel pump is screaming a little louder thank a normal walbro pump is supposed to and this morning ON A COLD START sounded like it was making a GRINDING noise upon priming. could my newish pump be going out already? i dont use bad gas (only quicktrip or chevron) maybe the strainer sucks? idk...

any input will be greatly aprreciated!! thanks

 

Sounds like its either motor going out or the filter on it as u said is bad and may need replacing. I would use seafoam

 

I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING SEAFOAM SEEING AS I HAVE TO REPLACE MY SPARKPLUGS ANYWAY... I JUST DONT WANT IT TO HURT THE WALBRO HAHA.... I HOPE MY MOTOR ISNT GOING OUT!!

 

Fuel pressure stays steady upon prime and startup?

If so, you're fine.

These pumps are just loud anyway.
