Meguires Tire shine... does it get all over your car.
I use meguires tire gel gloss. its the purple one. at first i used to put a heavy coat so it can last a while until next time i wash my car. but it get all over my car. i tried using a lighter coat but it still does it not as much but its really annoying because once im done washing my car that black gel gets everywhere on the body. does this happen to any of you. is there anyway to prevent this
yea thats the problem i dont use alot i just do a minor wipe. my friend puts on more and he doesn't get it. he has a 2k Si
meguiars is pretty good but don't use so much. i agree with gatecrasher.. i actually prefer regular old' armor all now.. it gives it a fresh black look without the wet messy look like meguiars. i'm tired of that super wet look. tires look bad when only the sidewall is wet and the rest is grey...
only apply a little bit(1 thin coat), also it only needs to be applied once every other week or so. I haven't put any tire shine on my tires in like 2 weeks and they still look wet.

I use one of those sponge type applicators and I've been using it for so long that I only have to reapply gel to it every OTHER time. Just use less. It doesn't take much to gloss them up a tad.
i use this stuff called black jack tire shine you can buy it at teh royal farm store or 7-11 its in a litte pack and you apply it with a sponge that comes with the pack..it works great and stays on the tires..its weird its like a gel.
Dude if it's slinging it off your tires you are applying way too much. I've never had any problems with it.
i've tried to use as less as i can it still throws stuff all over my car. im going to discontinue using it on my car. anything you guys recommend other than amor all
sounds like you got the watered down mexico version.....
do you dry your tires before you apply it?
i have no problems

nearly 2 years of use and no splatter or fly off. Use tire dressing sponge apply a decent coat and then work it into the grooves and sidewall markings and continue to rub it in a few more time. If you do this you shouldn't have any fly off. Too bad they still don't make the low gloss version of Endurance any more.

One time I tried the Meguiar's stuff and didn't like it because I couldn't get it shiny enough. I used some clear liquid stuff on my old car for a long time that made them look pretty wet, but didn't last long at all. The 16" tires on my old car also stuck out past the front fenders by about 1/4" so the stuff would sling up all over the car.
Now I'm back to using the Endurance stuff on my car, because now I prefer just a satin sheen to the tires, not a real wet look. The stuff is great, lasts for weeks, and doesn't sling off at all. I only apply it when I scrub the tires before washing the car (if the tires are pretty dirty). If I don't scrub the tires, I usually don't have to apply any tire dressing.

Armor all sucks its got silicone in it which sucks the moisture out of the rubber or vinyl trim and actually inhibits cracking of the interior parts and browning of the tires. The Meguiars Endurance in the black bottle is the stuff to use. I have used it since it came out and NEVER had a problem with it slinging off. I dont have to put
a lot on for it to last for a long time. I told my friend about it and he got the wrong stuff, the Meguiars purple stuff in the clear bottle and that **** slings of like crazy. The black bottle with the pinkish purple stuff in it es mejor que todo (the best)

everyone can say that he is applying too much, but I have the same kind of problem...
I have used Meguirs on all my cars and all sorts of tires and never had any fly off , even when I put a lot on, but now I have Kumho Supras and I think they really just repell the stuff, hahaha
I could put barely any on and it will all end up all over my car... its wierd....
I did have this bottle for over a year though, so maybe that was the problem......
Still going out to buy another bottle tomorrow though!!!

FWIW
the best was to keep that tire stuff from getting everwhere, is to spray it on a rag then wipe your tires with that rag.
