Default Cruise Control / Brake Pedal Switch

Greetings Everyone,

I just had the famous Pedal Stopper Pad brake into pieces. I glued a penny in the mean time just to have my brake lights work accordingly. As I wait for the replacement part to come in the mail, I find that my cruise control wont engage. I can turn it on via the cruise control ON/OFF switch on the dashboard, but It wont engage on ( green cruise control light on the speedometer.

Is this brake pedal stopper and its function associated with the cruise control?

Thanks!

Correct.
The stopper pad is a bit thicker than a penny.
So in turn that makes the cruise not work
It thinks you have the brakes pressed so it wont let the cruise engage
