new to site please help
My names brandon and im new to the site. I bought my wife a 2000 accord w the 3.0 vtec motor a few years back for a steal. Car currently has 93k miles on it. Roughly a month ago my brake lamp warning light came on dash. After reading up on this I came to the conclusion it is either the bulbs or the switch under pedal. I replaced both bulbs and nothing changed. Warning light was still on however brake lights worked as they should. Yest I was stopped by a fellow driver and informed I have to brake lights on back and after I got home I checked to find even 3rd light does not work. First thought was a fuse. I couldnt find a specific fuse label so I pulled ever one on both driver and pass side of interior along w the #4 5 I believe under hood. No issues with any fuses. I spent the $30 on the new switch and after ensuring same gap from housing to lock jut as factory I had installed it. I still have no brake lights on the car. My wife is a nurse and works nights so its even more unsafe in my eyes for her to use for work then normal and that leaves me w a day to fix this for her. Any leads to figure this issue out is greatly appreciated
Under-hood fuse no. 47 (20A) is for the brake lights, check that if you have not already.
The power for the left and right brake light bulbs goes through the brake light failure sensor, while the high mount brake light does not go through the brake light failure sensor.
You may want to ensure the high mount brake light bulb is not burnt out. If the high mount brake light bulb is burnt out and works after bulb is replaced, then the remaining issue with the left and right brake lights may have to do with a faulty brake light failure sensor or the wiring.
If you have a voltmeter, you can do some tests to narrow down the area of the problem.

If under-hood Fuse 47 is okay, try this.
The brake light failure sensor is located in the left rear of the trunk, next to the left brake light socket and the left rear turn signal socket. The harness connector for the brake failure sensor is a separate 6 pin gray connector.
Disconnect the gray 6P connector for the brake light failure sensor. With a small wire, jump the 6P connector cavity terminal (where the Wht/Blk wire is) to the cavity terminal (with the Grn wire). The Wht/Blk wire is a wire with white insulation and a black stripe running through it. Depress the brake pedal, does the left and right brake lights work? If they work this way, you probably have a faulty brake light failure sensor.

I am new to this sight and after searching over 6 pages of thread's this look's like the best place to ask my question. I just bought a 1992 accord EX. On cold start up engine will rev up and down tell engine is wormed up. I saw a receipt in car before i bought it for a new Idle air control perched in 2012 Today i found the 4wire 02 sensor wires (2 cut and the other 2 wires just twisted together with no insulation on them) could this have anything to do with the idle problem ?

For the oxygen sensor it sounds like they are bypassing the heating element. Get a Denso oxygen sensor and get another pigtail from the junkyard and put the wiring back together again.
