Some guidance please.
Hey everyone I would like to know some ways of fixing a knock/spun bearing I've been told by a few people to just buy a new head and block otherws told me just block and others to rebuild lol. I wanted to know if there was another way of fixing this thanks In advance. (:
well if its a crank bearing then that would be a much harder job, but if its the cam bearing then it wont be too bad of a fix. You can buy a new head if you dont know how to do the work yourself, which is suggested. If its a cam bearing.. I honestly dont know how much a shop would charge. I do my own work, but i imagine it would be as much as a new head would cost.
I would just take it to a auto shop that would do a diagnostics/maintenance check for you for free or for a small price. Call around maybe. Also your post under the wrong section, the mods will probably move this to tech/misc. Hope this helps.
I've never had to do a cam bearing, so maybe a little research on your part you can look up online and see how you would check for that. Thats what i would do.
