Default rocker arm assembly fell apart!

I have a 1994 honda accord LX and when I removed the rocker arms to change the lower spark plug gaskets, the thing shot apart! I have all the parts, but the ends are not going on! Can I please get help?

I already got it back together, I was dumb and forgot to keep the screws in when I took the rocker arm assembly off. Not one thing I found for the Lower o ring gasket said that you are to keep the screws in. I slowly peiced it together, since one half was together.

I have a question, is it fine if the bolts are supposed to be torqued at 16, if it is like 17 or 17.5 instead? I have a neam style torque wrench from 0 to 75 ft.lbs. but it is labeled every 2.5 pounds.

If there are ticks on the beam style every 2.5, just estimate where 16 should be. Do not overtorque fasteners. Just as bad as leaving them loose.

I did estimate where it would be. However, it might be 17 instead of 16

not enough to make much difference, just dont do the redneck thing and torque every bolt with a breaker bar and 6 foot pipe, lol, that ought to never come loose again!

Aww, but I just bought a 36 inch pipe to use lol

I joke, but on the serious side, I was tightening the valve cover bolts (my torque wrench only read like 7 pounds, supposed to be 11 yes?), and one of the studs snapped, just happened to be the stud next to the damn oil cap. Ordered a part, gets here friday. Is it fine to take just that bolt out and torque the new one in without having to loosen everything and restart the torquing sequnce since eveything is all settled and in place?

I don't even use a torque wrench for those. You just tighten it until it bottoms out and you're good to go. If you go too much those are way too easy to break the stud. Just tighten it til it bottoms out and be done with it.

Just go in a crisscross formation.

As is always the case with things with gaskets, start in the middle bolts and work your way out to the corners.

most torque wrenches floating around in peoples tool boxes are off by a few pounds, unless you regularly send them of to be calibrated, like I have to for work. if you want to be really picky about things like valve cover bolts, you need a small 1/4 torque wrench for small bolts. The larger wrenches will be off at the low end of the scale

I personally had half of the thing together, and just rebuilt the thing matching the sides. Each hole lines up for a bolt. Each time you complete a part, place a polt in. Forget which goes where, but place the right ones it. It will be stubborn cause of the springs.
