Default Upper Control Arm (Opinions Please)

So while I am changing out the wheel bearing I am going to go ahead and do both ball joints, So I am wondering what is the best way to go as far as pressing out the upper ball joint for replacement or buying the upper control arm assembly ? Safety- Longevity
I was set to press the old one out when it was suggested to do the whole Assembly
Thoughts Opinions
Thanks

the stock upper BJ's DON'T press out ig they're aftermarket they simply bolt out. New UCA's from Honda area bout $120 and the lower OEM Honda BJ's are about $90.

The upper ball joints press out under pretty ideal conditions. If they're rusted in, chances are you're going to bend the arm as they come out.

Safest bet is to buy a new arm.

Why can't you just buy the upper BJ from Honda ? like you can the lower, all the diagrams show it as 1 piece with the arm just the boot #8 is available and so no confusion happens. No way a whole new BJ costs $2.20 or #9 the clips at $3.28. Any I've seen are welded in

I'm sure you can, I could've sworn I've seen someone do this.

Save yourself the hassle and just buy the new arm

You have a fair technical question which is great.

Unfortunately the rules for the tech forum is that you must provide complete car information, make model year trim and mods.

Please edit your first post to include car information. It would be a tragedy to see a solid tech question get locked due to not being complaint with the regulations of the tech forum.

The reason honda sells an entire arm is because the metal of the UCA is thin enough that you cannot safely and reliably press ball joints out and back in without a lot of luck and expertise and a little McGyver'ing.

Buy an arm.
