99-00 ex civic auto and manual intake manifold difference
So I have have everything running on my car which is a 99ex motor but I need to get the manifold coated and cleaned. I was looking into buying a manifold and came across an auto 99-00 one but can't figure out if there any difference
I keep coming across people saying run auto manifolds on y7 motors but what about just switching it out into a manual y8.
Any info would be great. It's just the core of the manifold I would be changing out

One important difference - the IACV attaches to the rear of the manual IM. The auto IM lacks this feature because the IACV attaches to the TB.
I have the same question lol. So the 99-00' does have a diffrence in intake manifolds(man and auto)? So I wouldn't be able to use a manual intake manifold on an automatic?
There are 4 styles of D16Y8 manifolds. 3 of which you don't want.
96-98 D16Y8 manual transmission: IACV mounts to the back, no FIA valve (this is the manifold you want)

96-98 D16Y8 auto transmission: no holes for IACV to mount, no FIA valve (this one you also don't want because you'd have to drill and tap to mount the IACV and drill holes for the IACV)https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...-help-3190822/

These are in order of which one you want to get. Honestly I wouldn't bother with any of them except the 96-98 manual one. Either way you need to use the 96-98 intake manifold gasket as it doesn't have the shape for the FIA valve that will cause vacuum leaks.

Well I only asked because the owner if the last car swapped in a d16y8 but I'm assuming it was a manual because the iacv is mounted in the back of the intake manifold. So I would probably need a new whole new intake system lol. Because it idles so bad and I looked and seen a 3 plug when the iacv took a 2 plug
You can use it fine as long as you retain the Y7 throttle body and 3 wire IACV. Just leave the 2 wire bolted in. Also I believe the throttle rotor needs to be from a Y8 or any throttle body except the Y7.
I ran a auto y8 manifold on my y7, but kept the stock y7 tb. Im almost positive that the tb rotor spins a different way between the 7 and the 8.

Well I was just going to get a y8 throttle body lol. So to verify I could use the manual intake manifold aslong as I don't move the iacv on the back? And probably plug up any holes?
My car was auto originally, i didnt know there was a difference between manifolds at the time. I happened to get a auto y8 manifold with no airholes. If your car is already manual from factory, then you can use the manual one. Make sure you get the one that has them extra holes since you got a 99-00 motor.
No do not get the 99-00 one, just find a 96-98 Y8 manual one or auto and reuse your throttle body from the Y7 with the Y8 rotor. The 99-00 is going to cause to many headaches deleting the FIA.
The original poster I'm assuming had a 99-00 EX but this guy bumped his thread so unless he has a 99-00 Civic then I would look for a 96-98 Y8 manifold. Tutran that is your year/make/model/auto? The only reason to keep the 99-00 Y8 manifold is retain emissions parts other wise you'll have to delete the FIA or add the rest of the FIA components.
Yeah I bumped it lol. I have a 99 auto ex, but have a manual intake manifold which is causing all kinda of problems and just wanted to see what else I could do besides get the correct year one and what not
Not sure where you live but if you have stringent emissions checks (ie California) you're going to want to use the 99-00 Y8 manual or auto one. You can use any of the 4 with no real issue just make sure since you have a manual one to keep the IACV bolted into the back and reuse your Y7 throttle body and a Y8 throttle rotor. Also match the manifold gasket to the year of the manifold 96-98 and 99-00 use two different gaskets due to the FIA valve
I started a new thread...but this pertains to me too. So, I have kinda the opposite. I have an d16y8 automatic car, but have a manual intake. I am getting IACV code with the two wire. I have a spare three wire IACV, and an automatic throttle body. Bolt it on...left the two wire IACV to cover the holes. Car goes to 5000rpms when I start. Like a major vacuum leak. The back of the throttle bodies are different. Suggestions?
Hello everyone, my car is civic 2000 1500Cc, the gearbox is manual, there is an air bolt(Scrow), I don't know how many turns it should be. Can you help?
