Default crx b20 start and die

I have a 89 crx with a b20z and i cant get it to run. Timing is dead on, wiring is dead on, im getting fuel and spark. It will start and before you can say 1 Mississippi it just dies. No I can hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key to the on position but I dont know if it is continuing to pump as it runs. I also have to have the dizzy all the way advanced for it to start. any ideas where I should start? Im not throwing any codes.

This is all contradictory information.

1. Timing is dead on.
-Dizzy is advanced all the way for it to start.
Did you set it with a timing gun? Is it the correct distributor?

2. Wiring is dead on.
This is where I would start. Usually these issues are loose connections or wiring mistakes.

3. I'm getting fuel and spark
-I don't know if it (fuel pump) is continuing to pump as it runs.
Then you don't know if you are getting fuel. There are several ways to see if you are getting fuel at the injector.

You aren't throwing codes. Does the CEL work for sure? Should turn on for 3 beeps or so when you turn the key to the II-start position, then go off. If it never comes on, you have some problems.

What ECU are you running? Wiring harness modifications or jumper/adapter harnesses? What distributors are you running? Which injectors are you running? Are they peak and hold or saturated? Are the clean? Did you check the fuel filter? The car does have oil, right? Are the vacuum lines run correctly? Spark plugs gabbed correctly? Wires still good? Grounds properly ground? All 3 grounds?

There is a million things that can prevent a car from running. Perhaps a video would help.

thanks for the quick reply. The distributor is from a 95 ls integra b18. This is a b20 block with a ls head. I know the distributor works because im borrowing it from my daily driver. I have been back and forth all morning on the wiring making sure everything is getting to the ecu. I could verify the fuel and spark if I had someone to turn the engine over for me. Im running a pr4 ecu. obd1 dizzy and injectors. I have my thermostat, trans, and body ground all to clean metal. and the cel light does work if any of this helps. Only thing I can think of now that you mention the injectors is that I have them ran as if they were obdo to the resistor box and obd1 injectors dont use a resistor box

How is your mechanical timing?
Have you checked compression?

Are you positive that your plug wires are going to the correct connections on the distributor cap?

Can you check all 4 plugs and injectors for proper operation - assuming your CRX was DPFI and converted to MPFI.

Mechanical timing is on point for sure, that was the first thing i checked. Im going to check compression next. All my wires are in correct order i will be checking injectors as well and all plugs as soon as i can get a hand

Doesn't sound right unless you put the distributor on wrong, it can only go in a certain way.

id say the ignitor in the distrib because they are a common problem and go bad when they get hot.. which would allow u to start and rpms just die off

but u claim the distrib works so im going to aim towards timing or electrical

You may have to get an ecu tuned for your set up. It may run when you figure out whats wrong with it but its probably not gonna be at its best
