Icon6 1997 ACURA INTEGRA TRANNY

Thank you all for reading my post about my 1997 Acura Integra LS AUTO. The car completely stock and has 214,000 MILES . I had recently bought this car 2 weeks ago and have been noticing some issues with the tranny. One problem is when I put it down in drive, it will kinda kick its self there, sending the whole car in a back and forth motion almost like it is forcing itself into the gear. Second is from first gear to second there is a massive jump, even in slow and steady acceleration. Let me know what you guys think!

HEEEELLLLP ME!!!!

It's probably shifting rough due to lack of maintenance and fluid flushes. I would search using the forum or google for "Acura Integra hard shifting" and see what people have or haven't done to fix or band-aid the problem.

I had similar problems in an old chevy truck all I did was add some tranny fluid and it was back to normal! Good luck, also look for tranny leaks if there is any probably would take it to a tranny shop or swap in a 5 speed!

sounds like you bought a lemon. You didnt notice this when you purchased the vehicle? Hopefully a simple transmission flush and fill will fix this. good luck with that.

I would try topping off the fluid!! some times if it wasn't flushed like it suppose to the trans will slip then you will need a complete rebuild...

Actually it felt a lil funny once i got it home, like right when i got it to the off ramp.

But yeah, I'm going to go with the Drain and Fill. and add some stop slip for cushion.

Then i'll put an update.
