Turn key to on Position and Nothing. No crank Cel battery oill light ETc.
hello Hondatech,
I am a long time member (2006) but I have lost my previous account.........
My issue.
1990 integra Gs sedan
When I put the key in and turn it to crank the motor nothing happens.
I thought It was an ignition switch, but I ordered a new on from Honda and still the same issue.
No Cel light fuel pump battery or oil light. Basically no dash lights come on. I know its not the cluster because the high beam indicator comes on and the turn signal indicator on the cluster works too.. Also back lighting just no essential lights.
Please help I love my car and don't want to give up on it.
Thank you..

Assuming its a manual and not an automatic here is a long shot. I am not sure, but I almost certain that on that model there is a small plastic depressor that is affixed to the pedal assembly that triggers the neutral safety switch. It is attached to the clutch pedal and protrudes out so that it depresses the neutral safety switch when the clutch pedal is depressed. After time, the plastic becomes brittle and breaks. When it breaks it falls out, and there is nothing left to depress the neutral safety switch on the pedal assembly. Thus, the car will not start or even turn over. The switch will still be good, but will not function without that little plastic piece. I replaced mine in an EF with a bolt and works fine. It is a PITA to access, but with some patience and claustrophobia you can get it done.
If you don't know what I am talking about, look under the dash at the pedal assembly. Identify where the neutral safety switch is located on the pedal assembly and press in the clutch pedal. You should be able to see on the clutch pedal either that plastic piece pushing in the switch, or a hole where that plastic piece used to be.
You could also place the car in NEUTRAL and depress that switch with your finger and have a friend try to start the car. If it starts then you know that is your problem…
GOOD LUCK!

That ^^^would be the CIS, [clutch interlock switch] on a 5 speed, "the neutral safety switch" is in an automatic and is part of the A/T Gear Position Switch on most Honda/Acura. 94
Soooo figured out what it was.
So I was in hooking the alternator for some reason. Thinking it may be an alternator issues. Popped the 70a battery fuse under the hood. Replaced it and still nothing. Looking around the under hood fuse box I notice there is a 50a fuse for ignition. I inspect that and find no flaws. I then notice a harness plugging into the fuse box that has three screws holding it in place. The screw in the middle was missing. I pressed down on the section missing the screw and everything fired up. Fuel pressure seat belts everything that fires up when ignition is in stage two. Glad I didn't have to give up on it and thank you to everyone who gave advice. Hope this helps someone. Cheers!
