Skunk2 Vtec spool valve Gasket fix
Well I have received this "sweet" skunk 2 spool valve from a friend as a gift he told me it was purchased from jhpusa.com so i feel confident this is not some ebay knock off. so please i don't care what it is or the color it is. don't flame.
So installed this spool valve with no issues until i started the car up to have major leaks.
I went through two gaskets. ( 15825-P08-005)
The skunk2 video on skunk2's website says to replace the gasket you have. well this causes a leaking problem if you have any kind of obd1+ engine.
Skunk2 has milled their spool valves to fit an obd0 gasket (15825-PR3-005)
i went through 2 obd1 gaskets from a 95 delsol trying to stop this leak.
On the interwebz browsing i found this picture and it hit me how to fix this.
you will notice the difference in the gaskets here obd1(left) obd0 (right)
(pictures for you to see the difference in factory honda milling vs skunk 2 milling for gasket placement.)
gasket comparison:

honda spool VS S2 spool:

this is an easy fix for anyone that has this skunk 2 vtec spool valve. I was surprised that skunk2 had no information on this. the only information i could find was re-use the old gasket if it does not tear. In most cases the gasket is obd1
(i would like to note the top end obd1 gasket seems to work fine. it is just the obd1 lower gasket with the bigger filter that seems to leak)
If your engine is obd1+ you CANNOT!!!1 reuse your gasket with out leaking or chances of leaking or tearing the gasket. sure you can use silicone like im sure a lot of people have but really... 14-20$ for a proper gasket......
SO the gasket needed for the skunk2 valve is part# (15825-PR3-005) (like stated in the picture above)
So in the nut shell
S2 spool valve= obd0 gasket: 15825-PR3-005
hope this helps someone, helped me
(simply because i personally think this is an incredibly stupid idea to mill these after the obd0 vtec valve gasket design. incredibly uncommon!! would be much much simpler to cad/cam the milling based on a obd1+ gasket.)
also like to note there was not 1 honda dealership i could get this from, ONLY! Acura dealership's seem to sells these although honda stealer-ships do have the part number in their systems... odd.
