Car wont turn
I did a check under the brake pedal lever and I found out the rubber stopper that makes the switch lose contact broke. My car back lights is on even though the car is turned off. My battery was drained and I was able to recharged it at Autozone. Test the car back up and wouldn't turn over. Anyone have any idea why car won't start? Battery is still good. We've jump start the car with a jump starter amp, place a flat head on top of the starter positive and negative, and we were able to get the car to start. Can you guys tell me if the starter is still good or do I need a new starter? These starter don't usually go bad in Hondas. Maybe I need to put the rubber stopper switch back in??
I've search the forum and found one similiar topic. It was his rubber stopper that cause his car not to start. He fixed this by putting that back. I don't know if the rubber stopper can actually cause the car not to turn over. I have a friend his rubber stopper also broked but he was able to start his car. What do you think? My car start OK if jump with am amp. Would you say my starter is still good?
The "rubber stopper" is for the CIS, [clutch interlock switch], it supplies a ground to the starter relays coil when clutch stepped on, no "stopper" = no crank, it has nothing to do with the back-up lights.
If the back-up lights are on then either the back-up light switch is bad, [5speed] or the A/T Gear position switch is bad, [automatic]
If you have an automatic, you do not have the CIS, you have a neutral safty switch, it is part of the A/T Gear Position Switch, if you do have an auto, the "rubber stopper" that you found is for the brake switch and that would keep the brake lights on, not the back-up lights.
You said, " My car start OK if jump with am amp" what do you mean????
You can test the starter by doing a bypass jump...

Well, my car won't turn over. I have to jump start it with a jump starter amp. You know the device where you have one positive and one negative cable and you hook them up to the battery? Yeah that one. I connect positive and negative cable to the battery, then use a flat head and touch that bolt on top of the starter. On the top of the starter there is also a positive and negative where I have to touch with the flathead. This is the only way I can get the car to start.
As mentioned if it is the brake lights that stay on then the stopper is off the brake light switch stopper bracket.
It sounds like you have two problems for starting, a bad batt. [because of the need for the "jump start amp"] and a starter relay, [5 Speed] or A/T gear position switch, [auto]
So question is, do you have a 5speed or an automatic? 94
