Default EK4 Build from South Africa

Greeting form SA

Finally got my hands on an ek I have always loved the 2G ludes
In SA they sold the 1.5, 1.6 and 1.6 vtec dohc(basically a vti edm spec)
This is the only vtec model that was available which had a B16a6 with a gearbox similar to the us spec si but with a final drive of 2.266.

Pics from when I got it

Curious, is that a typo? Or is that correct that it has 2.266 final drive set factory?

Here in SA all final drives for b series were 2.266
These vtec civics came with 1 type of gearbox which was the S4c which was similar to the usdm si gearbox but with the above final drive and none came with LSD
Our sedan versions which used a b18b came with s80 and s4c but these ratios were similar to the LS gearbox they also had the above final drive

We have to be careful when buying local gearboxes as the s4c is used for both but have different internals and there are no additional markings on the casing

My buddy from Canada is organizing me a 4.4 final drive and I am going to do the LS Eco 5th gear mod

Nice to see another South African on the forum! Nice Civic! was going to buy one and ended up going for a 4th Gen H22a Lude. Not disappointed at all... besides the 15 liters per 100km lol.

Do you know of any places to get Honda parts? and tuning shops ?

You planning on future mods ? Turbo route maybe?

Sorry about the accident, just hope whoever does the repairs matches the red properly. Its a tricky colour to match.

Yeah its been swapped in with a manual box. Was running a H23 with an auto box. Im still running the P12 ecu from the h23 ( 15l/100 km and no VTec :'(.... ), so going to be going with a stand alone soon.

Nice write up on the h2b build, will be sure to follow it. H22's civics FLY!

Be sure to check out: https://honda-tech.com/drag-racing-3...-rice-3192536/

Some inspiration and what you can expect from your build. Goodluck!
