i am running bone stock ZC with factory LS intake/airbox and a factory Z6 exhaust manifold freshly converted to MPFI in an 88 sedan DX...i was running obd0 pr4 LS and car began to sputter and jerk one day out of no where and code 16 was noticed... i switched to a obd0 PM6 and code 16 was still there...i did an impedience test on the fuel injectors and they all passed and so i folled by swapping the main relay out and the CEL code 16 went away... but 15 mins later the new main relay i got used from a friend stopped working so i switched back to old relay and CEL was still gone??? So i say changing the main relay is a good place to start for code 16... what other issue/solutions have you had with code 16?

D15B2 intermittent stall, CEL & code 16
Engine would not start, suspected main relay or main injector. Replaced both. Still no start. With this engine, ECU is supposed to switch to AUX injector in a 'get you home' mode [engine limited to 3500 rpm] when main fails. This was not happening. Disconnected electric from main, forgot about it. Attempted to start engine, It started. Reconnected main electric, engine stalled. PROBLEM- bad circuit for main injector in ECU [B2] Replaced ECU. Problem solved. No more stalling or code 16
Engine is supposed to start, run no matter what code is blinking.

 

I have code 16 up and my civic runs fine. only thing I can tell is wrong is im getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. 15 MPG!
I also have code 5 up, but what do you think my problem could be with 16?

Why on earth would anyone use a Honda Service Manual to troubleshoot?

 

BTW had to look it up but CATA is catalytic converter. I guess that manual above is for a JDM or other domestic market car but should be applicable to this car as well.
