I have an old POS eco box, and I want to do this to it. But without 1,000 lbs of clay.

any of you body work guys got any idea? Best I could come up with is beating the panels with a round hammer. I'm personally hoping I'll find garbage plastic thats already dimpled and strong enough to withstand 100mph winds

Its not nonsense, its science I'm continuing experimentation where mythbusters quit. And even GDD is doing better than this forum, and Fabrication and even SOHC forum's versions of GDD.

so far I'm thinking foam covered with fiberglass and some decent paint sounds like the best bet.

I just got prices from my local supply company, its exactly 51.50 for a 10x10ft sq @ 1" thickness. Its also 100ish for 2" thickness. Lets say I need 3 10x10 sqs, thats 150-300$.

idk how much fiber glass costs id prolly guess 250$ for the materials I haven't used the stuff in like 10 years personally but I know we have repair kits laying around and a bucket of the glue from some repairs done a few months ago.

and like 200$ for half decent paint, got the sprayer just gotta buy some painters plastic tarp and make a makeshift paint booth

for atleast 11% return, on say 30mpg thats 3.3 extra miles per gallon, or an extra gallon per tank. That takes about 4 years to pay for itself, not to mention all the fun I'll have building and driving a strange car that also helps save the planet.

anyone have experience fiberglassing golf *****? How much is 30sq ft of fiber glass worth?

This car will never be built. Never. Your track record shows you're all talk. I'd really like to see you finish, hell successfully START, even one of these hairbrained projects of yours. 5 usernames and counting and you've not come close. GDD. Meh. Tell all those people to come and check your 5 page "build" thread where you haven't built a single thing.

I was told by so called experts that the beast-mode build only hurts the potential so I'll focus on a known method to increase MPG in the meantime. I'm not gonna upsize the manifolds or get a CRX cam until I tune it in the first place so get a solid baseline for a tuned d15b7 w/ a cone filter ram intake mod.

if you would be so kind you can upload the new pictures I cant right now. There's a joke tho I'm telling you now so dont get mad

Bro you're like some people I have worked for before.

"work faster! Get more done!"

"wtf you expect me to do? Show me how its done and maybe if I know what I'm doing I can hustle"

but srs the engine cant go back together until I get that valve stem seal, and some coolant and oil but WalMart isn't far

Work implies that you are actually doing something besides providing lip service. You haven't done, produced, fabricated, drawn (etc.) anything since you've been here with the first username. Nothing except talk about how cool it would be.

Okay lets do something right now I have a PO6 (whatever the stock d15b7) ECU.

what brand socket do you recommend? I think hondata but I dunno, I wanted to get that for my accord but the TL ecu isn't cheap.

I think I want to use chrome IV seen alot of people have success with that.

reduced air resistance, scientific studies have shown properly scaled-dimples increase mileage by 10%. Tryin to max out a d15b7.

it might look cool too

ight whatever I'll find a tuner and ill ask him about an a series obd1 upgrade while I'm at it. Dunno what's good for beginners, IV seen the AEM system before looked sweet but a socket chip or whatever seems easier IMO

Dimples best help spheres. The car is not a sphere.

Vortex generators / turbulators placed at the correct positions (which depend on the specific car and potentially the speed desired for them to help) would be a much better solution here.

And then, once you decide to go this route, you'll also want a boattail and covered wheel wells to further minimize drag. And then you'll realize you could have just purchased a generation 1 Insight and got both already incorporated into a wind tunnel tested design and simply added a few vortex generators to it instead.

I was gonna use mooncaps for the wheels instead of covering the wells. I dont even think I could find an insight IV only seen like two ever

the weight of the material added to give the golf ball effect will offset any MPG gains,

it works on highway. Idk how much fiberglass weighs but the foam is light as as a feather. I can carry 2 squares of the stuff up a latter without thinking about it, unless its windy and the foam board is trying to throw me on the ground
