1997 honda civic key fob problem
i got a 97 civic ex auto and my fob will unlock the doors like its suppose to and the panic button works but the lock button doesnt work. when i lock the drivers door manually it locks both doors. what would cause the fob to unlock but no lock?
my key fob is like this one. but instead of the trunk button is says option. but it says honda on the key fob. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...yL._SX300_.jpg you have saved me more then one grumble...dont fail me now
Both doors? In your shoes the first thing I would do is pull the door panel and start inspecting all the mechanisms starting with the actuators. I predict Ron will be up next to tell you what electrical tests to run.

The keyless receiver is located within the radio, and door lock control unit is located inside the driver's door.
When you press "lock" on your fob, a signal is sent from the receiver to the control unit via a Grn/Wht wire. This wire runs from the cabin through the driver's door jamb connector to inside the driver's door. A very common problem is that wires tend to break in the door jamb connector. Check whether the Grn/Wht wire is broken there.
thanks grumble and ron!! i have had a few issues with the connector in the drivers side door. that will be the next thing i check when i get time. thought the problem with the connector was fixed but obviously not. honda-tech gets ragged on a lot but as long as you dont get on here acting like you know everything you dont get trolled. thanks again guys!
