Default 1997 Engine Cooling fan woes....ughhhh

hey guys -- so, here I go..cooling fan issues...started the day with neither fan working...got my freon level to the proper amount (yay!), still nothing...swapped some parts out...no luck...finally read my Haynes and after making sure my fans were good...relays are good....found the control module behind the glovebox was loose....so, plugged that in and here is what I have going on now.

With the AC on, BOTH fans are on, car runs great, no issues at all. AC cools, engine fan is on, stays within temp range. With the AC off BOTH fans go off. The engine fan will not run with the AC off, now it is 100 degrees here now, but, I'd like to fix it right.

Im thinking an ECT is bad maybe? Thoughts?

thanks!

It's more than likely the fan switch at the thermostat housing. Get another from Honda and swap it in. It's really important to use Honda cooling system parts.
