As you know I started building my race car a couple months ago, and have gotten pretty deep into it where there might not be a point of return. I need your opinions, help and support if I should still build a race car that will be competing in the hot rod/quick class category for the 2003 season <--Hopefully.
Already have:
MMR Rear End setup
MB Fiberglass Doors'
Carbon Fiber Dashboard
etc..
I would still need:
Front end
cage
parachute
mark williams front end to finish the chassis and lexan arghh..
im 19 and work hard like ****. I think I can accomplish it. I usually accomplish everything I put my mind to. I have always gotten what I wanted because I have worked my *** off.
Opinoins and support pleaes. I would also need a team when it would be done.

you in that deep you might as well finish it off, just think if you sell it you wont get half of your money back if you sell it. I would finish it if I were you.

. You said it your self "when you start something you usually accomplish it" So get you'r mind set and make it happen.
Good luck man

I say wait till you have meore resources($$). I dont see the point in making a race car if you wont have the funding to be one of the best. Rebuilding motors is expensive.
I think when you have limited resources that the first thing you need to do is get a basic gutted car running and racing first.
Then slowly do all the modifications to it.
I think this is the best way to spend your money effectively.
Running your car at the track is important. It gives you exposure to potential sponsors, but you have to be somewhat competative first.
Spending money on parachutes now is a waste. Do you really think you can build your first drag chassis and expect to click under 10s??
I know too many people that are working with limited resources that go out and buy the best of the best while building the car and then never finishing because in the end if you really got the best of the best you will have a 75k+ car that you still haven't even raced yet so you really didn't know what your needs were and when you take it to the track will need months of runs to get everything sorted, tuned and adjusted.
At least that is the way I would look at it. But if you have 50k in your pocket, its a slightly differnet story.

But Im goin for it no matter what other people tell me and try to put me down.

ReidWhat kind of car, what have you done so far. Trying to get my cage done this month at least so I can start to put the doors on the car and the dashboard and mount the seat and the aluminum work.

wow very deep in it.
what im gonna do is, build the engine so i have some power. like 300+
then start turning it full race after i get a beater......slowly....cause i kno i can't handle 700hp.

You`re in pretty deep. I`d start to put together a portfolio and proposal. It`s tough, but a sponsor or two would help. You should be at SEMA next week.
Getting the car running is one thing, getting it to run right is another...
