That is a very clean sedan (the Civic). Good color combo to start out with, looks to be an EX, may have rear disc too. Nice, especially for free.

Thanks guys. Yea it's an ex. Rear disks and a 5 speed. It has one small dent in the rear quarter but it's an easy fix

what are your ideas besides repainting it? Mostly cosmetic or mechanical stuff?

Pretty much all cosmetic. It's going to be my daily and I love the gas mileage and ac so I'm not gonna mess with the motor. Just suspension, wheels, etc.

Why did you get rid of the Accord? Sounds like a major step backwards. I'm looking forward to the day I can get rid of both of the Civics altogether.

I was tired of payments and it was a v6. I drive from corona to Dana point everyday so gas was killing me too

Hmm...V6 J engines don't guzzle gas that bad unless you're stomping on it, or stop and go traffic. Traveling wise its usually good with me. No issues with the tranny after rebuild. I read online that the reason why the tranny was crapping out was because of a sticking valve and the guy said to drill a tiny hole into it to bypass it and keep the fluid going.

Regardless, hope your build comes out nice and hopefully you have a plan.

That whole trans is crap, the level 10 built ones aren't even that great from who I have talked to. Plus for the 4,000 you can have mr paul install a manual trans which is loads better and more fun.

you can actually mod the air flow, or supercharge it, and it wont blow itself up if you do a burn out wowee

The trans held up nicely I sold it with 170,000 miles and it never gave me a problem, the only thing is that it was rough shifting up and down. They apparently fixed it with the 06 and 07 models but the 03-05 got recalled for the torque converters. The gas mileage difference though is huge compared to the cars. I kept up on all the maintenance on the accord and was still maybe getting 20 on the highway

Wtf how, mine gets 20ish and the trans slips, the bearings are bad, the axles are bad, the spindles are crooked, it has 17s, the engine is in a state of disrepair, etc

when it was decent it got 30 on the highway easily

Negligence maybe? I've notice people that actually took care of there trannys, even if they knew the v6 had problems, actually prolonged it. Even the Honda Odyssey drivers did there best by adding external filters and a tranny cooler. But as state one repair guy found why, and there was also a company that made a new valve that INCLUDED the tiny bypass hole.

Where I commute the freeway is up and down hill. And even putting all those miles uphill the tranny never worried me one bit. I always kept up with the trans services and everything. My bad I forgot to mention the hills I drove on haha. When I would drive out of state on flat I'd get around 350 miles per tank. I haven't taken the civic on a road trip yet so I haven't compared them yet
