Manual transmission coming out of gear?
Hey guys, I have a 2000 civic d16y8 and it's coming out of 2ed gear when slowing down, I just bought the car, the axles are bent, who knows how that happened but it's a good quarter inch movement, and by that I mean its very out of round. Could this cause the car to come out of gear? I just replaced the transmission mount and also the bottom right mount. When you give it gas and left off fast the shifter moves a lot. Any ideas? Could this mean it has a bad transmission? Thanks in advance.
Replace the bad axles and carefully inspect the rear and left engine mounts, as well as the two front torque mounts. Replace any bad mounts. Then go from there.

Also don't overlook the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine. I had a bad vibration for over a year, replaced a TON of stuff trying to chase the problem, and it turned out to just have two bolts that were out about 1/16". Once they were tightened down..the problems went away! Start simple!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys, I'll get those done like you said and go from there. They would have to be done along with the hubs regardless. I'll also check those bolts, I did notice that someone had the blots loose already at one point, you can see the wear from a wrench being on it. I also did check the fluid for the transmission, there was fluid right to the top of the bolt hole.
