Default Hose clamps on rad hoses

So I've looked about online and I wanted to get some opinions on this.

Just got a new upper and lower rad hoses for my d series civic 1.6. I also got new worm drive clamps, just regular ones from autozone that you screw with a flathead to tighten on.

Cut it short, I decided to check on the hoses just to be sure, I noticed a very slight bit of coolant on the bottom rad hose where it connects to the radiator, on the clamp. I removed it, cleaned it up and put it back on, tightening it to where I pretty much can't anymore. Every other clamp seems to be dry as a bone, no issues. I'll double check for any drips when I drive the car again.

Question is, what clamps do you use, and if you use the worm drive ones, have they worked alright for you guys? Wanted to get some opinions. Maybe mine wasn't on tight enough, too tight? Go back to spring ones?

I've used the worm ones on my bottom hose for years no problems even after taking the hose on and off. Just make sure the hose is on all the way. Dont tighten it so much that the clamp digs into the hose.

I would choose anything over the OEM hose clamps. When I took my p.s. Apart I cut those suckers up because I couldn't bother with em.

That's what I'm afraid of. I made sure the hose was on all the way. When I tightened the clamp again no coolant dripped out of it so so far so good. I tightened the clamp to the point I can't anymore, didn't damage the hose as far as I'm concerned. I heard you're supposed to put them on while the hose is hot? Idk but I just wanted some ideas on how reliable they were.
